What is a partial refund, and why does it occur?

A partial refund occurs when the merchant makes a refund for less than the redemption amount.

A partial refund occurs when the merchant makes a refund for an amount less than the amount of the original redemption. This may occur for various reasons, including canceling the purchase of a product in a redemption with multiple items or unavailability of an item, among others.

  • If you receive a partial refund, request a refund.
  • If your program does not have the ability to make a partial refund of points or miles, the equivalent value will be credited in "Cashback".
